The porcelain figurine "Leda with Swan," limited to 25 pieces, is a masterpiece of Meissen porcelain artistry, combining ancient mythology with the highest level of craftsmanship. In a graceful pose, Leda lovingly strokes the swan's slender neck, while her cloth is draped lightly over her back and shoulders. What she does not realize at this moment is that the swan is in fact Zeus, father of all gods, who in this form is courting the beautiful wife of the Spartan king Tyndareos. The scene thus refers to one of the most famous stories in Greek mythology and symbolizes the connection between the divine and the human.

The shape of the swan is based on a model by Johann Carl Schönheit from 1784, a student of the famous Johann Joachim Kaendler, who had a decisive influence on Meissen's visual language in the 18th century. For today's edition, the figure has been artfully painted by Antje Funke, once again showcasing the classical beauty and grace of the design through the finest, contemporary craftsmanship of the highest standard.

The production of the swan figure requires the highest level of craftsmanship: shaping the numerous individual parts demands precision and many years of experience. Small details such as the soft facial features, the drape of the cloth, and the elegant curve of the swan's neck are modeled by hand in a labor-intensive process. After firing, the figurine is painted by hand with great attention to detail, using a steady hand to apply subtle colors that emphasize its classic aesthetic.

"Leda with Swan" embodies the ancient ideal of beauty in the form of a sensual, elegant woman, while also continuing the tradition of Meissen artists who translated ancient themes into their own design language. As a timeless work of art, this exclusive MEISSEN figurine is not only suitable for collectors, but also as a special gift.
