MEISSEN® artists like to use Böttger Stoneware® in their work, the material that Johann Friedrich Böttger invented in 1707 before white porcelain and which the manufactory director Max Adolf Pfeiffer had produced again in 1919 according to the original recipes. Erich Hösel created the "Riding Camel" figurine in 1931. His travels abroad, made possible by art scholarships, had taken him to the Middle East, among other places, where he received important inspiration for his artistic work. This was also the case for this sculptural work of art in the exclusive collection. Everyday scenes from a distant culture are captured in detailed modeling of the material to create an impressive figure. While many masterpieces are elaborately hand-painted, this one does without colorful accents. A sculpture made of Böttger stoneware® wants to be touched, its surface breathes and radiates an earthy warmth. Whether colorfully hand-painted or left natural - the figure is an impressive work of sculptural art made exclusively for you.
