Colorful and curious, the parrot looks at the viewer. MEISSEN® artists have been creating bird figurines since the 18th century. Johann Joachim Kaendler played a leading role in this. The bird figurine "Parrot", created in 1735, captivates with its lifelike form and the differentiated coloring of the plumage – both the result of elaborate craftsmanship. Hand-painted in contrasting colors, the bird figurine appears as if time has stood still – a snapshot of nature – an incomparable work of art. Hand-painted down to the smallest detail. The bright red tip of the tail provides a breathtaking contrast to the elegant white of the porcelain.
